What is the Ohio Baptist Network?

— We are a network that promotes church planting, church revitalization, and connection with Ohio Pastors and churches in the state of Ohio and for the state of Ohio.

Are you affiliated with any other group?

—We are not affiliated with Converge, the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist Bible Fellowship, or any other group. While we are not against those networks, we simply chose to not be encumbered or distracted by decisions made on a national level. This does not mean that participating pastors cannot support other groups.  In fact, a number of OBN pastors and churches remain associated with a variety of affiliates.  But the Ohio Baptist Network made the decision to remain independent so we can focus our time and resources on church planting, church revitalization, and connection in Ohio.

Who can be part of the Ohio Baptist Network?

— Any pastor and church can be part of the Ohio Baptist Network. Our unity is not based on our approach to ministry because every participating pastor is called to reach people in their local context.  Instead, we are united by our doctrine which is expressed in our Confession of Faith (you can read our doctrinal statement here.) To be part of the OBN you simply need to be in agreement with our Confession of Faith.

Is there a place for staff members and their wives?

— Absolutely! Church staff members are a gift of God to their church and we believe they should be a valuable part of the Ohio Baptist Network.  We will work hard to ensure that everyone who attends OBN meetings knows they belong. 

Is there any financial obligation required to be part of the OBN?

— Revitalization and church planting requires financial resources to provide monetary support for church planting and revitalization. While you do not have to contribute financially to be part of the OBN, our prayer that every pastor in the network who is able will lead their church to support our efforts to impact Ohio with the gospel.

If I don’t provide financial support, can I still join the OBN?

— Absolutely! We do not require annual dues or regular financial contributions to be part of the Ohio Baptist Network.
